My first time going here off of a recommendation and ordered "The GodFather" it was packed with meat and definitely was a hefty sandwich I was impressed.
Ami's is THE PLACE for fresh authentic bagels. Slightly crisp outside and buttery soft on the inside. Made the traditional way - boiled then finished in the oven. Too many flavors to list. The salt bagels with scallion cream cheese are out of this world delicious. They also offer breakfast sandwiches and coffee. At least a half dozen flavors of cream cheese are available too.
It tastes alright but they are not friendly. The menu is not clear and ordering is rushed and confusing. They get short when you asked questions. I got charged extra $2 per bagel just for butter and $1 just for 2 slices of tomato
Bagel was really good as to be expected from a bagel place, but I was very disappointed with the bacon egg and cheese, 5$ for a not freshly cooked egg, and my roll was burnt.
The bagels themselves are DELICIOUS however the food quality is garbage I've gone many times and order a bacon egg and cheese and the bacon is so undercooked and cooked ahead of time even a day in advance you can taste when bacon is not fresh eggs were under as well so this time I order a simple bagel toasted with butter and cream cheese I opened it immediately to eat omw to work n the bagel was cold toasted, but cold some how to only a minute for me to get my bagel after ordering the butter wasn't even melted. Always hoping for the best and disappointed each time
Honestly speaking, there wasn't a menu anywhere that I could view prior to going to this bagel shop which was a turn off. When I arrived to Ami's there really wasn't much interaction with the customer, unless I went at an off peak time. There wasn't much of a warm greeting upon entering either. While I've had better bagels and service what absolutely turned me off was when a teenage boy rang up my order and when I received my change back out of the 83 cents that was owed to me, I got back 80 cents. It took him a few minutes to produce my change as though he was remembering to keep the 3 pennies. Although it might not seem like a huge deal, if you take 3 pennies from 100 customers daily and you do that for 365 days, you do the math. Bad business practice that I strongly disagree with.
The bagels really are everything they're made out to be, but I went here twice and multiple members of the staff were SO rude that I can't go back, because the stress isn't worth the bagel. As I type this, I am sitting next to my husband's breakfast and contemplating where I'm going to go myself for breakfast, since they waited ten full minutes to tell me they couldn't give me what I ordered. One lady was cursing behind the counter to herself, smacking people's orders on the counter, even the other customers seem rude... Idk, it's just too much for takeout breakfast.
Came in on a Saturday morning and it was total chaos. My kid pointed to a muffin and asked what kind it was. The counter person said she didn't know. Then she just stood there and stared at us. It was weird. I got a plain toasted bagel with veggie cream cheese. Their bagels have a great crispy exterior, but they really don't seem like bagels at all. More like a bagel-bread hybrid. It was weird. The veg cream cheese was tangy as if it had turned or soured. It was weird.
No one in my family finished their bagel. It was weird.
